Support for Tony Subbert’s Family through Brain Tumor Surgery and Recovery.
Earlier this year, Tony woke up and realized that he had suddenly and totally lost most of the vision from his right eye. After many doctor's visits and tests, on November 1, Tony was diagnosed with a pituitary macroadenoma, a fairly good-sized tumor which had extended to impair his optic nerve. In order to prevent any further damage, which may end up being permanent, the tumor must come out, and it will not be an easy or simple surgery. The tumor has two kinds of “sections,” and while they are confident in being able to remove the main section, they are not as sure about the smaller section, which is the one affecting his optic nerve. If they cannot get it all in the first surgery, they may have to go in for a second, more invasive surgery to hopefully remove the rest. Tony will undergo surgery with a team of amazing doctors at Tampa General Hospital on Monday, December 9. Once the surgery is done (doctors have said it could take up to 8 hours), and tests are run, they will have a better idea of the recovery time and prognosis. Prayers are definitely appreciated that they can get it all in one surgery.
Tony is a hardworking husband and father and has made sure his wife Kaitlyn, who is also 5 months pregnant, is able to be a stay-at-home mom with their 5-year-old son, Atlas. But unfortunately, his salary is commission-based, and he does not have short or long-term disability coverage, so if he is unable to work, the family has little to no income. The medical bills will undoubtedly be astronomical, but the most immediate need and source of stress and concern for their family is the everyday expenses they will face as Tony recovers from surgery. Rent, car payments, utilities, and day-to-day expenses will add up quickly. With no salary coming in, we are hoping that your loving and generous support will help ease that burden from Tony’s and Kate’s mind so they can focus on a full recovery until he is able to return to work. We love all of you that have provided support to Tony, Kate and Atlas. They are so loved and are just the sweetest family. Please pray for calm hearts. This family is no stranger to tragedy but have shown the power of pulling together as one big family. Showing love without hesitation. We will be with them every step on this next trial. Please help if you can and remember it cost nothing to say a prayer for the family. Tony & Kate we got this and you! And most importantly, our Amazing Great God above will be with you! Love you so so much!
