On Friday August 9th our friend and fellow Shiloh breeder Jan Santini was alerted by Luzerne County Animal control that a Shiloh boy purchased from her years ago was living in horrible conditions and needed to be rescued ASAP. When she arrived, the house was being condemned, it was filled with garbage, urine and feces. 6 dogs were in stacked metal crates, fur totally matted, and laying in their own urine and feces. They hadn’t had any food for 2 days.

“Thor”, the 9 yr old Shiloh was emaciated, covered in mats and 40lbs under weight. He has multiple broken and missing teeth. Thor will have a long road to recovery. He is still very loving and trusting but his neglect has taken a huge toll on him. Because of his near starvation, he will need to begin a costly re-feeding protocol to stave off further complications.

Also removed is “Trixie”, a Shiloh/Akita mix. She is in better shape than Thor and a total love bug, full of personality. She has been fixed. Her baby was rescued with her and is also in need of socialization and rehabilitation.

All donations will be so greatly appreciated, and will go towards vet bills and to ease the financial strain the structured re-feeding process will incur. Any funds leftover once the dogs are well will go directly to a reputable rescue.
