The Daniel E. Geagan Post 98 of The American Legion in Brewer, Maine, is raising funds to help support the post's grave marker project for veterans buried in the Oakhill Cemetery.
Many gravestones are worn and faded, or simply not recognizable at a glance. Therefore, we are raising funds to place a metal and decorative veteran marker at their grave, which will make it easier for friends, families, businesses, city workers, charitable groups, volunteers, and veteran organizations to place flags, flowers, and wreaths at their gravesite every year.
A local vendor has graciously agreed to sell us the markers for just $30 each if we purchase 100 or more. We are confident that the community and fundraising efforts will come together to help us meet our goal.
We estimate that approximately 250 markers, or so, will be needed to complete the project, and we'll purchase and install them as funds become available.
Here's how you can help us! Donate $30 to sponsor one marker, or feel free to donate more to support the purchase of more markers. We appreciate anything you're able to do and give for this honorable project, regardless of how big or small your donation is. Every bit will help.
We thank you for your financial support to ensure that none of our veterans are forgotten.
