Please support the Lazzara’s after Hurricane Debby!

I’m starting this GoFundMe for my dear friend, Leanne and her family. We lived across the street from them in Sarasota for 10 years. Leanne, Scott, Ben, and Anna were in California visiting us on August 5th when category 1 Hurricane Debby hit Sarasota. Scott and Leanne are life-long Floridians and have weathered many hurricanes and expected little to no damage from this hurricane. Unfortunately, for unknown reasons their neighborhood completely flooded. They have lived in this house for almost 20 years and have never seen anything like this. The neighborhood is not in a flood zone (0.2% chance of flooding) so they did not have flood insurance. The water has started to recede and they are hoping to get into the house soon to retrieve anything that is salvageable. They were able to kayak into the house yesterday and it appears that all will be lost. There is 9 inches of water throughout their home and from the watermarks it appears it was up to 4 ft at one time. Their cars are also flooded. Everything will need to be redone because the water is sewer water.
