It comes with great sadness and a heavy heart to share, Mark Kibby's life was taken suddenly on the morning of Saturday, November 28th after a tragic motorcycle accident.
Mark will be remembered always for his generous heart and that he gave ALL he had to others. Mark loved, adored and was always so proud of his sons, Owen 22 and Ben 19, and his beautiful, lovely wife, Cathryn. He was a giver, devoted to all he knew and touched the lives of so many, son, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, teacher and colleague.
Mark was an outstanding, gifted educator. He has impacted and influenced the lives of so many young minds and fortunate souls. Mark was a gift to many districts and school systems such as Bethlehem, Greenwich, Granby, Rome, Italy, Avon and Rocky Hill. Over the past 7 years he has been the Assistant Principal for CREC and most recently at the CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School, grades PreK-5, in Rocky Hill.
He was known as a "responsive leader whose sense of humor and compassion helped bring people together. His passing is a loss for the school as well as the larger community." - Superintendent of CREC Schools Tim Sullivan.
Mark is also known for his many contributions and the ways he gave back to the community when volunteering for Granby Football, Fish Eye Wrestling and the Dream Ride Experience.
The goal for this fund is to ease some of the burden and stresses of daily life for Cathryn and the boys. Your kindness and generosity will help cover the costs of household chores, winter driveway clearing and yard maintenance, and most importantly to help defray the cost of college education. Cathryn, also an outstanding teacher and strong member of the Granby community. They have together, given so much to so many. The purpose of this fund is to give something back.
