This is an urgent call for our community to come together for the James family this Christmas season.

On November 19th 2025, their 14-year-old son, Elias, was struck by a car while crossing an intersection in Ajax, and was dragged beneath the vehicle. In seconds, their entire world collapsed. They rushed to the scene praying he was alive, only to watch him be airlifted to SickKids as doctors fought to save him.

By a miracle, Elias survived, but he now faces months of recovery, therapy, and unimaginable pain — and his parents face the financial and emotional burden that comes with it.

This accident has taken away their sense of safety, their peace, and the Christmas they were supposed to spend together as a family. Instead of preparing for the holidays, they are preparing for hospital visits, legal battles, and the long road of rebuilding their son’s life.

As someone who knows this family personally, I can say without hesitation: they would never ask for help. But right now, they need the support of a community that refuses to let them face this alone.

This Christmas, while many of us are wrapping gifts and gathering with loved ones, the James family will be trying to make the holiday special from inside a hospital. If you’re able, please help lift even the smallest part of their burden.
