Doug and Whitney took 13 month old Elena to the doctors for strained breathing that resulted in an emergency flight to hscu in Portland oregon. A lot is still being discovered, but we are to believe Elena was born with u Der developed kidneys. There are lots of tests to be ran at this point to determine the exact direction of care but doctors believe that she will need dialysis and later one or both transplants. Doug and Whitney are very optimistic that God is fully in control. They will have a team of doctors, nurses, dieticians and social workers to ensure a long happy life. This is all very very new, but after care will be very extensive and life changing for the hamblins.
