Please support the final step in my healing

I developed several mysterious, seemingly unrelated health issues beginning over the course of 2012 to 2013. I went from considering myself “healthy” to having chronic sinus and yeast infections and becoming sick after every meal (dizzy, nauseous, and GI issues). I later learned I had become allergic to wheat and gluten (I had NO allergies before), and when I eliminated them the infections stopped. But I still seemed to react randomly to foods and it took me years to figure out why (I later learned I had developed histamine intolerance, where my body was unable to eliminate histamine as it should).

Then I developed allergies to peanuts, cumin, and naproxen (the medicine Aleve). I began to have chronic back and shoulder pain in 2014, and learned my small intestine was not functioning properly, and my hormones were out of balance. In 2015, I began to use a Neti pot morning and night to ease sinus pain. That year I seemed to get ill every time I ran (I love running!), so I canceled my gym membership after I realized exercise was somehow causing illness.

I had flare ups of asthma in 2016 and 2017 - I was diagnosed with asthma in high school but thought it was a fluke (I’m a runner, after all!) but I needed an inhaler sometimes more than once a day on days with otherwise normal activity (like going to work, walking to and from the parking garage, etc).

In 2017 I got pregnant with my son, and exhaustion and brain fog became a part of daily life, but I got through it and got the best baby boy at the end! However, we had a scary moment when I was given an IV medication I had never had before and I had a severe allergic reaction: I was dizzy, it was hard to breathe, I swelled up, and I began vomiting.

I cannot tell this story without thanking God for his protection and the wisdom of my medical team! I didn’t know I was having a reaction to anything (this was my first labor), and they wisely turned off the IV and told me “You can do this!” And I believed them, and we were able to avoid an emergency C-section! I was told the next day the medicine and that it was a reaction so I could avoid it moving forward.

The pregnancy brain fog continued until my son was over a year old, when I thankfully became connected with a health company with people who are knowledgeable about supporting the body. I began supporting my body with a few basic, daily supplements and reactions to histamine STOPPED!! This expanded my food options tremendously and was a huge weight off my shoulders.

November of 2019, I began to ask for healing prayer at any occasion or event where prayer was offered. The most notable experience came November 9 when I attended a women’s event and, as I pressed in to God during worship, my husband was (unbeknownst to me) praying earnestly for me at the back of the auditorium. I went down front for an altar call and a pastor suddenly appeared and began praying for my “total healing.” I didn’t feel better right away, but I began to call November 9 “the day God healed me,” and I began to believe more than ever that He would.

After this, a friend gifted me a book which introduced me to a ministry known for healing - Be in Health is considered a foremost expert in allergies, and has led countless people to total healing from gastrointestinal diseases, autoimmune issues (which are considered incurable!), and even cancer. The Bible-based ministry teaches God’s truth to bring spirit, soul (i.e. personality, mind, emotions), and body into HARMONY which restores relationship with self and others - and brings healing. The book described illnesses such as the ones I’ve been facing, and many others, with descriptions of the emotional brokenness that can cause them. This is when I made the connection that all of the illness I experienced coincided with times of huge heartbreak and rejection from people I loved.

One Sunday in September of this year, I was at church during worship and I felt Holy Sprit impress on my heart that I was to raise both hands, and keep them raised. I don’t ever raise both hands at once due to the chronic shoulder pain, and I was nervous to raise them both and KEEP them up as I knew there could be pain later. But I figured God knows what He’s doing and I kept my hands raised in worship. I did have pain afterwards, but I trusted that God called me to that for a reason so I didn’t complain. It took me a few weeks to realize that this Sunday in church brought about the release of the daily pain - where I was often between 6-8 on a pain scale (daily), I haven’t had pain over a 2 during the whole month of October!!!!

I used to think God could and would heal me just through my prayers and time with Him. But in the last 2 years he has shown me that, while he is able to heal in any way, he chooses to do so through community. My journey has been one of reaching out, asking for healing even if I’ve already asked before, stepping out when I was afraid, finding a church family, and even asking for help. I believe going to Be In Health ministries and participating in the For My Life retreat and Walk Out workshops are the FINAL step to complete physical and emotional healing, and I know the fruit of this will go far beyond me.

The next For My Life retreat begins November 9 (of all days!!!), and I would fly out on November 8. This is the optimum time, as this is the final retreat within the time frame that travel is acceptable (Braxton’s baby brother will be here in February), and I wouldn’t be able to leave Baby until after he is weaned.

I could certainly manage the physical aspects of this, as God has taught me so much about my body up to now. But there is so much more at stake - I want to serve my family, my friends, and my community UNHINDERED by any physical obstacle or mental/emotional block. I want to speak God’s Truth without scars and shadows holding me back that I don’t even know are there - the Truth that will set others free!

I believe with all my heart that this is the final step to complete healing, and I would love for you to join me in any way you see fit. Prayers, shares, any dollar amount contribution, following my updates when I put them out (because I am going to continue the testimony and I can’t wait!) - your participation means the world. I know this was lengthy. Thank you for reading, sharing, and considering!
