HI Everyone, I’m reaching out to ask for your support for Shayne, Dafhne, and their children who are very close family friends of mine as they go through an incredibly difficult time.

For five years, Shayne lived with a lump he was too afraid to have checked. Every scan suggested it was harmless. In May, he had it removed, believing the ordeal was over. But a biopsy brought devastating news — Stage 2 soft tissue Ewing Sarcoma, one of the rarest and most aggressive cancers, especially in adults. Shayne’s tumour was so unusual that its location has rarely been seen there before.

Since July, Shayne has been undergoing an aggressive chemotherapy regimen in Perth every two weeks with upcoming surgery scheduled in. His wife, Dafhne, has been by his side every step of the way — as his carer, support person, and constant source of strength. Together, they’ve had to travel a long distance for treatment, spend long days in hospital, and juggle two homes while caring for their 4 children.

This journey has brought enormous emotional and financial strain — time away from work, high travel costs, and the challenges of keeping family life together while fighting cancer.

We are raising funds to help ease the burden for Shayne and Dafhne during this incredibly difficult time. Your donation will help cover high medical costs, travel expenses, accommodation, living costs, and give this family the space to focus on what matters most: Shayne’s recovery.
