We are raising funds for the family of Shane Harlan as they navigate the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of a beloved son, father, brother, and uncle.
Above all else, Shane’s greatest source of pride and purpose was being a dad to his 10-year-old son, who was truly the center of his world. He cherished every moment with him whether biking, hiking, swimming, camping, fishing, or simply enjoying the outdoors together. He also loved sharing his faith with his son, reading the Holy Bible and attending church together.
Shane remained hopeful and determined to build a better future for himself and his son. He had recently secured a job and was preparing for a long-awaited fresh start, planning to move from Waterford, California to South Lake Tahoe, California on June 30. This opportunity meant everything to him, as it would have allowed him to live closer to his son, and be more present in his daily life spending meaningful time together and building memories they both looked forward to.
He had already taken important steps toward this new beginning, with his trailer and vehicle fully paid for and repaired in preparation for the move, reflecting his effort and commitment to rebuilding his life.
Tragically, before he could begin this new chapter, Shane passed away during an emergency response leaving behind a grieving family and a young son who now faces life without his father.
It is heartbreaking beyond words that all of his hopes, plans, and dreams for a fresh start and brighter future will never come to be. His 10-year-old son is now left to grow up without the father who loved him deeply and built his entire future around him. There will be birthdays, holidays, graduations, soccer games, and countless everyday moments that Shane longed to be part of but will now miss. The loss is devastating for everyone who knew him, but especially for the son who meant everything to him.
As the family copes with this unimaginable loss, they are also facing funeral, memorial, and related expenses. Any support will help ease this burden.
Any donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Shane’s family in your thoughts and prayers means so much.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
