Please support Peppers journey to recovery!

Some of you may recognise Pepper from BBC’s 24/7 Pet Hospital which aired in February this year! It showed Peppers amazing recovery & hydrotherapy journey. Everybody fell in love with her & we’re hoping that the love for our girl & her amazing recovery last time can help us in this heartbreaking situation we’ve found ourselves in again. Pepper is unfortunately really poorly again and we are all devastated.

Early last year my sister Lucy & partner TL paid over 10k for Peppers surgery & treatment when she slipped a disc in her back due to stage 4 IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease) as their insurance unfortunately would only cover £1000 of this expensive but life saving operation. Unfortunately they had to take a loan out to cover the costs & have paid a lot since for Peppers continued treatment.

Pepper made a miraculous recovery after 3 months of being paralysed in her back legs & learned to walk again with the amazing help of Wear Referrals.

Unfortunately, despite making lots of changes at home & caring for Peppers new needs, she’s been unlucky & has suffered a slipped disc in her neck, again due to IVDD Although Pepper is now covered by a more solid insurance policy, they will still only pay out £1000 for her neck operation as it is classed as a pre-existing condition (IVDD).

We had no choice but for Pepper to have another emergency surgery on 21.11.23. We know she can smash her recovery again because she made a miraculous recovery last time. But the cost of this operation is something my sisters cannot cover themselves. If you know Lucy & TL you will know they’d never ask for help from anyone, yet they’d do anything for anybody. So I’ve set up this page to try & help them with the costs of Peppers surgery.

Pepper is their world & they are truly heartbroken to be back in this position again with a long, hard journey ahead of them caring for Pepper. But they wouldn’t have it any other way. Pepper brings so much joy to their lives & to ours too. If you’ve had the privilege of meeting her you will know she is the most loving, funny little sidekick who has been by our side over too many hard times in our family over the past few years.
