Roberto is a beloved and loyal coworker at Illinois Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Center (ISMOSC). Universally, he is the man that everyone adores and strives to be. Just three weeks ago, Roberto was laughing and smiling at work, just as he always does. Five days later, he was put on a ventilator due to COVID-19 complications.
Many people have been infected by this terrible virus, but Roberto made the pandemic hit home. He is a true gentleman with the uncanny ability to make everyone he meets feel loved. He puts others above himself and has a whole heart made of pure gold. At home, he is a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Roberto has a long road ahead of him, and unfortunately his family is not able to be by his side. He is currently at Northwestern Memorial Hospital being treated by the best in hopes of fighting this infection.
We are asking for donations in Roberto's honor to help support his family through this trying time. Any donation will be appreciated by his family. His wife, Silvia, is receiving the donations and is planning on using them to pay for his treatment and to supplement their income. She too is infected with COVID-19, so she is unable to work as a day care provider. Her infection was not nearly as severe as Roberto's.
His family says thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.

Sincerely,
Silvia Rodriguez

His family is also asking people who are able and willing to donate plasma for use in COVID-19 treatment. Roberto has received plasma transfusions throughout his treatment, and there is a nationwide shortage due to the surge in COVID-19 cases.
