Please Support Nicholas's Van Repair for Mobility
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am the aunt of Nicholas Kurta and he can use some assistance if you are able to help out. His custom van is in need of some expensive repairs. The ramp has become inoperable leaving him without the transportation he worked hard for to maintain his independence.
Let me explain Nicholas's story . . . He was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of 4 years old. Bethlem Muscular Myopathy to be exact. The disease has left him confined to a wheelchair since the age of 17.
What Muscular Dystrophy has NOT taken from him is his passion for dedicating his life and livelihood to emergency services - firefighting specifically - and photography. Nicholas grew up seeing his parents and stepfather as first responders, it's in his blood. Firefighter, 911 dispatcher, and law enforcement are occupations his role models hold and held. He, himself works for a county 911 department.
Nicholas has pivoted and turned his dream of becoming a firefighter into photographing emergency vehicles and scenes, as well as, maintaining several related Facebook groups. His photos have been published in many magazines and newspapers. He has a well deserved and earned following within the firefighting community.
Nicholas has worked hard to maintain his independence and the most important tool to keep him moving forward is his custom van. If you know Nicholas, you know he is a giver and not a taker. It's a difficult thing for him to give his approval to create this GoFundMe account and ask for help.
Please help in any way you can. Please share far and wide so we can give him back his independence.
