On what should have been an ordinary day, my mum's life changed in an instant. A freak fire has severely damaged the static caravan she calls home, leaving a large section completely burnt through. The damage is so extensive that you can now see the inside wall from the outside. She currently has no electric as the input power line has melted off.

While the current sunny weather is helping to prevent further deterioration, once the rain returns, the exposed interior will suffer even more damage unless urgent repairs can be carried out.

This caravan isn't just her home— it is also where she looks after my elderly grandmother, for whom she is the primary caregiver. The fire has had a heartbreaking impact on them both. While many of the items destroyed were possessions, countless irreplaceable memories have also been lost forever. If the caravan cannot be repaired, she faces the devastating possibility of losing not only treasured belongings but also the home they both depend on.

My mum has always been the kind of person who puts everyone else before herself. She volunteers with food banks, delivers Christmas food parcels to families in need, and never hesitates to help anyone who needs a hand. Now, she's the one who needs support.
