Please Support my Heart Recovery Journey!

This is probably the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’m a 41-year-old fashion stylist who currently lives in Los Angeles. In July 2024, I suffered a massive heart attack a week before my 40th birthday and a subsequent heart attack a week later.

Since then, I have been in and out of work due to medical restrictions, the dangerous amount of blood thinners I take, as well as a serious drop in physical energy to do much.

I am usually a very healthy person who doesn’t do drugs and barely drank, lived a very active and healthy lifestyle, so to say that all of this being a surprise is an understatement.

I was recently hospitalized for severe shortness of breath, and after having a CT scan and echocardiogram, doctors discovered my ejection fraction (heart strength) was around 20% when it’s usually around 50-70% for a normal heart, as well as having a large blood clot lodged in the lower left ventricle of my heart that could dislodge and move to my brain causing a stroke at any time. I now have to wear a LifeVest (defibrillator vest) 24/7 in case my heart stops suddenly, and I take about 18 pills a day, which the majority I am now paying out of pocket for.

Being a freelance artist, I don’t have the privilege of receiving weekly checks; if I don’t work a gig, then I’m not paid. I don’t foresee myself being able to work for a while, and with this new medical condition and additional prescriptions, I know that I will be in a bad financial space very soon.

I’m putting my pride to the side and asking for any assistance in helping me to cover my medical expenses that I won’t be able to cover, as my emergency fund runs out in a few days and I’m left to figure things out.

I understand that it’s rough for most, so anything helps & even if you can’t donate, just some words of encouragement would help as well. I am a very private person and this was a lot for me to post, but desperate times call for desperate measures and this is definitely one of my lowest points. I appreciate anyone who took the time to read this, who donates, or even says a prayer for me, because I need them all.
