Please Support Michael's Full Recovery from Spinal Surgery

Our son Michael had a serious fall that resulted in emergency neurosurgery on his spine.
What made it so serious is his discs were pushed inward into his spinal cord. This caused the spinal nerve to be partially severed and 97% compromised, causing spinal fluid in that area to also be restricted.
That 3% difference between 97% and 100% compromised is what could have caused him to be paralyzed on his left side.
Unfortunately, the surgeon had no choice but to operate even though normally he would not do this surgery on someone so young.
During surgery, it was discovered that the inflammation was much worse than originally believed. They removed 20% of the discs, which restored proper fluid flow, repaired and released the nerves; however, in doing so, it caused even more inflammation. That inflammation in the nerves and spinal cord is what is causing the pain to be so severe and why he hasn't regained all his strength in the left side of his body. They struggled to get his pain under control, which caused him to pass out and fall. He was rushed back to the hospital by ambulance, just one day after his post-op discharge. While there, he had abnormal blood work and an abnormal EKG.
He was readmitted to the cardiology department for further testing. They concluded the severe pain caused his body to react and caused a cardiac event.
As of now, their concentration is to get the inflammation down, which should help reduce the pain and hopefully regain full function of his left side. He currently has not regained this back.
PT will also help his strength come back in time.
He is going to need to take the time to fully heal before he is able to return to work in the medical field.
If there are no more complications, his downtime could be up to six months. Although he is able to claim FMLA through work, he has no other benefits or insurance. He has applied for help through the state, but this takes time, and he was the main income source for his family of 4.
We are asking for help to cover his ongoing medical expenses, which will include post-op appointments, PT visits, and medication costs. His family will also be in need of help with everyday bills and groceries that will no longer be covered by his income. His being on medical leave creates these hardships automatically, with their monthly rent being due in just a few short days.
We want to thank everyone in advance for all your help, well wishes, and support. We also understand that not everyone is able to support him financially, and that’s okay. If you could share the link and help spread this to others, that is greatly appreciated as well. Every little bit helps in situations like these.
This has been a very scary, painful, and exhausting few days for Michael. He just wants to heal properly and be able to get back to work and enjoy life with his girlfriend and their two children.
