Please support me to record my orchestral music!

My name is Michel Barros Bessone, I am a music composer and performer. My fundraising campaign is to bring to life my composition PHISQA KIRKINAKA for orchestra, charango, and two choirs. The composition is structured in five different parts which combine the different styles of the European and Andean traditions and their cultures. My first target is to start a partial recording with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Adam Klemens, supervised by Leigh Phillips, and myself on the charango. All the funding raised will be invested in this project, to cover all expenses of performing, recording, mastering and mixing, video shootings and editing, travels and accommodations, diffusion, etc.

The first piece we will record is called “Allá donde estés” (wherever you are), which is the first of the five ones of PHISQA KIRKINAKA that I composed, and it is dedicated to my friend Patrizio Pecchi, who was an Italian charango maker and player, and also an Andean traditional music lover. He is one of the most beautiful persons I’ve ever met and he has been crucial in my career as a charanguist, as he encouraged me to keep playing and improve my skills more than anybody else. Unfortunately, my friend passed away in 2011, at the age of 64.

PHISQA KIRKINAKA is more than just music; it is a cultural message. It also contains visual performances such as the Quipus, Andean traditional dance, and paintings. The lyrics are a traditional legend about the origins of the charango, and the two choirs who perform it sing in Aymara language, from the native American indigenous. The whole composition lasts about one hour and it must be performed by almost two hundred artists. It took me a whole year to write it!
