Hi, this is Malissa and Jessie and we are asking for help for our sister Mandy and family.
Many may not know yet; Mandy had a hemorrhagic stroke on Saturday, Feb 5th. On Saturday afternoon, she got home from the store, collapsed, and called for Tom, her husband, to call 911. She was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Red Wing, who immediately identified a brain bleed and dispatched a helicopter to transport her to St Mary's in Rochester. The Dr's have found she has high blood pressure but cannot pinpoint why. After controlling the high BP, the bleeding slowed and then stopped. She has lost control of her whole right side at this time. With God's grace, she is cognitively fine. The specialists are hopeful she can regain some functions, but it will take some significant rehab. She will be out of work for a very long time while this happens. Mandy will need 24-hour care when she comes home, so Tom, her husband, will not be able to work much either. She will have a lot of medical expenses such as her deductible and copays, transportation, adaptive equipment for their home, day-to-day bills, and so much more. Mandy has been a caretaker to many, giving selflessly at her job, as an RN, and to her family/friends whenever needed. Please give what you can; anything will help. Thank you in advance, and all prayers are welcome.
We will update her progress as we can.
