Queridos amigos y familia,

Me dirijo a ustedes con un gran pesar en nombre de mi hermana Lourdes y sus hijos para obtener apoyo financiero mientras nuestra familia pasa por una tragedia inesperada. El martes 6 de julio mi hermana Lourdes fue a emergencias después de no sentirse bien. En el hospital, Lourdes dio positivo por covid, su nivel de azúcar en sangre resultó alto mientras que su potasio resultó bajo, y después de dos días de recibir tratamiento para eso, dejó de responder, lo que llevó a los médicos a realizar más estudios.

Luego se le encontró un coágulo de sangre en su cerebro debido a una lesión en la cabeza que los médicos desconocían. La lesión en la cabeza hizo que Lourdes tuviera 2 derrames cerebrales mientras estaba en el hospital. Lourdes se encuentra actualmente en soporte vital y en estado crítico. La recuperación no es muy probable para Lourdes y si su cuerpo es capaz de sobrevivir a la lesión en la cabeza, nunca se recuperará por completo y la Lourdes que todos conocimos y amamos ya no estará con nosotros. Los médicos continuarán monitoreándola durante los próximos 2 días para determinar si mi hermana tiene alguna actividad cerebral, de lo contrario, la retirarán del soporte vital y nuestra familia tendrá que comenzar a planificar su funeral.

Con todos los costos inesperados que se avecinan debido a esta tragedia, le pedimos que considere ayudar a nuestra familia donando y compartiendo esta recaudación de fondos. Cada poquito ayuda. Las donaciones a la familia se destinarán a las tarifas de inmigración / costos de viaje de nuestros padres que no se han reunido con Lourdes antes de la pandemia y nuestras hermanas en México que no la han visto en los últimos 20 años debido a estados migratorios. Soy el hermano de Maria Lourdes. El dinero que estoy recaudando se utilizará principalmente para los gastos de viaje de nuestros padres y hermana para traerlos de México para que puedan asistir a su funeral y entierro. Los fondos sobrantes se depositarán en una cuenta bancaria para mi sobrino y mi sobrina, para su futuro.

Dear friends and family,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my sister Lourdes and her children for financial support as our family experiences an unexpected tragedy. On Tuesday July 6 my sister Lourdes checked into the hospital after not feeling well. At the hospital Lourdes tested positive for covid, her blood sugar tested high while her potassium tested low, and after two days of receiving treatment for that she became unresponsive which prompted the doctors to conduct further testing.

A blood clot was then found in her brain due to a head injury that the doctors were unaware of. The head injury caused Lourdes to have 2 strokes while in the hospital. Lourdes is currently on life support and in critical condition. Recovery is not very probable for Lourdes and if her body is able to survive the head injury, she will never have a full recovery and the Lourdes we all knew and loved will no longer be with us. The doctors will continue monitoring her over the next 2 days to determine whether my sister has any brain activity, if not they will be removing her from life support and our family will have to begin planning for her funeral.

With all of the unexpected costs that lie ahead due to this tragedy, we ask you to please consider helping our family by donating and sharing this fundraiser. Every little bit helps. Donations to the family will go towards the immigrations fees/travel costs of our parents who haven’t been reunited with Lourdes since pre-covid and our sisters in Mexico who haven’t seen her in the last 20 years due to immigration statuses. Donations will also be used for any medical costs and if necessary funeral costs.

I am Maria Lourdes’ Brother. The money that I am raising will be used primarily for travel expenses for our parents and sister to bring them from Mexico so that can attend the her funeral and burial. Any left over funds will be put into a bank account for my  niece and nephew, for their future.
