Dear friends, family and community,

My name is Janice and l’m raising funds for my nephew(Kent) and his family battling cancer. They are a family of four from the Philippines, currently staying in the heart of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Their journey began in August 2024, when they arrived in Canada filled with hope and dreams for a brighter future. However, in September 2024, their lives were turned upside down when their son, Kent, was diagnosed with a cancerous bone tumor in his right leg.

This diagnosis has profoundly impacted their family. Kent is now unable to walk and experiences constant pain, which leaves my brother in law by his side day and night, often without sleep. The emotional toll is immense, and it has made it difficult for him to focus on his studies or seek work. Meanwhile, my sister works tirelessly at a local restaurant and continues searching for additional part-time jobs to keep their family afloat.

Despite their efforts, the financial strain is overwhelming. Kent’s medical expenses, combined with the costs of transportation for his treatments—often requiring them to travel between Niagara, Toronto, and Hamilton—have pushed their budget to the breaking point. The long, frequent car trips (one to two hours each way) only add to the burden.

Yet, amid these challenges, they find strength in the moments of togetherness and the kindness of the community around them. This support has begun to make this new place feel like home. Still, as the financial pressures grow, it becomes increasingly difficult to provide Kent with the care he needs while meeting their family’s basic needs.

Today, they humbly reach out for help. Your support can ease the heavy load they are carrying, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: Kent’s recovery and the well-being of their family. Every contribution—no matter how small—brings them closer to stability and hope.
