Please Support Kelly's Horse Fund!

Hello friends! This is Amy Tracy. As a long-time friend of Kelly Rosati, I have been let into the inner sanctum of passwords. I have chosen to use this privilege to post a Go Fund Me on her behalf.

On Tuesday of this past week, John and Kelly put down their third horse in a year’s time. Sweet Oshun was an island of solace for Kelly. She posted a little about her death on social media, but for those closest it’s been devastating to watch her contend with heavy grief in the wake of this loss.

Animals have always been the center of life for the Rosati family. Oshun and T, and especially young Colter were an outlet for Kelly. I have often thought in the midst of kiddo chaos, “That horse is a kiss from the Lord.” I know the power of therapy animals because of my own work, and especially for what they’ve done in my dear friend’s life. They’ve kept her afloat and her head above water.

For much of the last sixteen years, Kelly and John have dealt with serious mental illness among their four children. This last year was particularly brutal with their youngest son disappearing for days, then found down in his car after a suicide attempt. They continue to parent their two oldest who are ill and in and out of hospitals. As someone who’s walked with them and lived with them, it often seems too much for any one family to bear, and yet Kelly continues to give back through ministry to others in similar situations. I am a fan. So many of us are fans.

I'm writing today because Kelly needs a horse and I'm looking for your help. The rub for them is this: After years of crushing medical debt and costs associated with caring for sick kids, it’s come to a head financially. Replacing Oshun with another horse is not an option money-wise for the foreseeable future. While this is not a life-or-death call to action as with some worthy fundraising campaigns, it does involve the very real health of our friend’s spirit.

P.S. I don't want to forget John in this piece. He and Kelly have shared in both the love and the loss. As you may know, he is the very best of men. This gift will contribute joy and meaning to their marriage as they both invest in the life of this very fortunate horse and family member to be.
