This Go Fund Me page is for our parents Jeff and Cindy Craig(King). Please share this.

My sister and I have thought about doing this for awhile now. A lot of our family issues have been somewhat private but once reality finally had a chance to set in we knew we had to at least try and help them. Now let me explain something, our parents are both very stubborn and proud individuals, as you can imagine it took a lot for them to allow us to do this.

Close friends and family know that Mom has been fighting for her life for nearly 10 years now with two different cancers: Ovarian Clearcell, Neuroendocine Carcinoid Cancer (and not to mention another cancer back in 2002 resulting in an absent mother for close to a year with 2 teenagers alone at home with their father). Now with a chance she may have to go into surgery for her 4th time. This women has the strength and determination to do what she needs to do so that she can be here with us today; she’s an inspiration to anyone. Mom’s been traveling to and from Toronto and other treatment facilities like it’s her job. Dad's tried his hardest to cover the bill’s the best he could but after so many years it has taken a huge financial toll on them.(they are still paying for Moms trips for treatments to Toronto that has cost them well over 100 000 in the last 9 years.)

Then, recently, our family had been hit again with more bad news. In the past few years Dad had been going to a neurologists and specialist because for some reason his speech started to deteriorate and we were trying to find answers. We didn’t get any answers until they finally performed a spinal tap…the results were devastating for our family. Dad was diagnosed with Progressive Bulbar Palsey, a rare neurological disease. Instead of going into details please feel free to search the disease and see what an unfair, heartbreaking disease this is.    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.epainassist.com/amp/nerves/bulbar-palsy  It upsets us still to talk about it and we hope that Moms strength and our families strength and ours will help him fight this horrible disease and stay positive.

Dad could not work anymore as a salesman, as being a salesman for 20 years you need a voice and it was hard for him to perform to the standards he was used to. He may have sold you a car from Nissan or maybe you talked to him last year at Kia. He also worked for years at SMT as a courier. As of today he has applied to disability and will probably not be going back to work. Ashlee and I do want to thank Ivan Crewdson who was a former owner of Nissan, for his support to Dad and
Mom, when she was going to Toronto for treatment and surgeries. Dad always said that Ivan and Peter were the best people he ever worked for. So thank you for being human, having a heart and for having empathy at that time.  Also we would like to thank their friends, our family and everyone who have previously supported Mom and Dad over the years. We are forever grateful to you.❤

Mom worked in customer service for years. You may have remembered her smiling face at Aitken Center or renewing your license at Service New Brunswick. Mom has also helped many people in their cancer journeys and is a huge advocate on patients treatment rights.

These 2 people are the most giving people we know. Dad would do anything for his friends, co-workers , customers and family . Lend a tool…plow their yard...lend a helping hand …and Mom would give her last toonie in her purse to someone who needed it more without thinking twice. But those who really know them know that they were and still are the most funniest, entertaining, loving people to be around and there would always be laughter no matter how hard the days are.

Dad and Mom need to start making plans for the future and start making plans for alternative treatment plans for Dad and to get Mom stable enough so she can work. They need to have time to make their plans without this financial burden weighing on them daily. We would be so grateful if anyone could help them during this time and any amount donated would mean the world. To have both parents, sick at such a young age , is something we hope no one will ever have to go through. We want Dads time spent playing with his grandchildren, hanging out with family and friends and doing things he loves. Making amazingly beautiful memories.

Thank you everyone who; reads this, sends prayers or donates. If you have any questions please email Marci at [email redacted]
