Please Support Jami Turman's Battle Against Breast Cancer

It has been quite a devastating week for the Turman family as Jami has been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer, also known as double breast cancer. There are currently many unknowns, and we hope to have additional insight as Jami undergoes more testing. What we do know is that there are two different forms of cancer present, and Jami will need to undergo a double mastectomy, as well as chemotherapy.

You may know that Jami has been a devoted and selfless mother to her two sons, Billy and Trent. Her ability to raise them as a single mother on the East Coast, far from her friends and family, into the incredible young men they are speaks to her resilience. Billy is currently a junior at Bentley University, working towards his master's degree while also playing football as a quarterback for the Bentley Falcons. Trent is currently a freshman at Rutgers University, working towards his bachelor's degree while also playing football as a wide receiver for the Scarlet Knights. As a former Raiderette herself, it is clear that the athleticism and love for football remain strong among the family. With both of her boys recently off to college, Jami had aspirations to relocate back to the West Coast to be close to her mother.

I am sharing this on behalf of Vicki Turman, Jami's mother, and the Turman family. Unfortunately, the Turman family is no stranger to hardship. Approximately a year and a half ago, Vicki underwent open-heart surgery and has been focused on her recovery. As a mother herself, she knows Jami's ultimate desire is to be healthy and present in her sons' lives.
