Recently, our beautiful friend India received the heartbreaking news of stage 3 Gastric Cancer diagnosis, a rare diagnosis to receive at the age of 30.

India requires intensive treatment to beat this cancer along with fertility treatment due to the effects of chemotherapy.

She will start a new and expensive immunotherapy treatment alongside Chemotherapy on 20th November ongoing fortnightly, followed by open surgery and then more chemotherapy.

During all this, India won’t be able to work until she is fully recovered. She is thousands of miles away from her family and home. Being far from home during such a unimaginable time has added an emotional and financial strain that no one should have to face alone. India has always been a fighter, whatever has been thrown at her she faces it head on. She has the biggest, warmest, kindest heart, and is always the first to show up for others. Now, she needs us to show up for her.

As life never likes to make anything easy, the challenges don’t stop there, India is not an Australian citizen this means she is ineligible for Australian Medicare as well as comprehensive private health insurance due to the visa she is on, therefore she’ll be paying for majority of all her treatments out of pocket. This can cause significant strain especially when you’re unable to work to have an ongoing income.

We want to alleviate the added financial pressure of making ends meet and to ensure that India can access the best additional therapies to coincide with her Cancer treatment plan.
