I’m fundraising to help pay for my 5-year-old cat’s upcoming dental surgery.
This morning (10/5), he started showing signs of pain — licking his lips and gagging as if something were stuck in his throat. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where we found out his gums were severely inflamed and a few teeth were at risk of infection. The vet recommended removing those teeth to relieve his discomfort and prevent further issues.
During his visit, he was also screened for feline leukemia — and unfortunately, the test came back positive. This diagnosis makes his condition more serious and can shorten his life span.
I was able to cover the emergency visit, where he received antibiotics and a steroid injection to ease his pain. In two weeks, we’ll return to the vet for another round of bloodwork and lab testing to confirm the leukemia diagnosis and check whether the antibiotics helped his gums. If the inflammation hasn’t improved, he’ll need to be sedated for dental surgery to remove the affected teeth.
All funds raised will go directly toward his veterinary care, including follow-up testing, medication, and surgery.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and supporting us through this difficult time. Every bit of help truly means the world.
