Please support Club Unity young athletic talents

Hi, my name is Nura and I am organizing a fundraiser to help a group of highly enthusiastic and talented young figure skaters in my native country Bosnia and Herzegovina. These young girls have been training under extremely challenging circumstances, one of many being lack of the access to the ice surface, often times being no more than 2 months per year. This is despite the fact that city of Sarajevo holds two Olympic size ice rinks, that were home to The Winter Olympic Games in 1984. Both amenities were targets to 3.5 years of daily bombing and shelling during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The amenities have been reconstructed since the war, but financial constrains preclude the costly maintenance of the ice surfaces, making it near impossible for these talented young figure skaters to train. Many of these young athletes have to spend months away from their families training abroad, and missing school for several weeks at the time; that is, when and if they are lucky enough to have sponsors who would open their doors to welcome them under their roof to help support their endeavors. Despite the above circumstances, figure skaters from “Unity” Club have sent their athletes to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at Junior Grand Prix and European Youth Olympics year after year.

My goal is to raise $10,000 before the end of the qualifying season to help these amazing young enthusiasts secure access to the ice surface, close to their families, and without having to miss education for the cause.
