Please Support Chris Papi’s Leukemia Battle
Donation protected
My brother Chris has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and is currently receiving treatment. Chris has completed his first round of intensive chemotherapy and is in the hospital still receiving frequent blood and platelet transfusions, as well as continually being monitored and awaiting his next bone marrow biopsy. We are also still waiting for more test results on his Gene profile to help give us a better picture on the overall type of AML and prognosis.
While we do not have a definitive answers as to the exact cause, doctors have said that this is typically caused by exposure to radiation and certain chemicals. We cannot say for certain where Chris would have encountered this, but we speculate it is possibly something he encountered during his time in the US Navy. Even with our theory Chris would not change a thing about his Service. He grew up wanting to join the Navy, did join the Navy, and is proud to be a Navy Veteran.
Despite the situation, Chris remains positive and we are hopeful for a full recovery; however, there are things that having such a serious illness and treatment can have an impact on, such as not being able to work and having the unexpected costs of a serious illness.
This is something I do not want my brother to have to worry about while he is fighting this illness and for his future. I have created this campaign in hopes to relieve some of his worries by helping with some of his medical and living expenses during this time. I do not want Chris to have to worry about potentially losing a place to live, how he’ll manage all the medical expenses, or being unable to provide for his children while he can’t work. So, I will be relying on my accounting background to assist Chris in managing his expenses during this time so Chris can spend his energy on the important things, like getting better, his children and family.
Donations and prayers are appreciated but not required. All I ask is that you please share his story in hopes we can raise some funds so Chris has a few less things to worry about right now.
Thank you, Angela Sullivan
