I know this update thread might be confusing, but I'm leaving the previous updates up in case you are new to our journey......
Archie is home!
His blood levels have held and Suzanne is basking in this moment of relief. Are we out of the woods? No. But are we praying for remission? Hell Yes.
The bills are insane, and if you had asked us before hand if we would ever be able to afford this kind of care for our fur babies, we would have said no. Archie is fighting so hard, and giving up on him was not an option....we are remaining hopeful, but realistic. If in two weeks his levels stay up to par, we will consider him in remission, and hope for him to have a full life, as full as one with an blood related autoimmune disease can.
Your prayers, your support, and your dollars have made this way more manageable than we can express. Thank you one hundred thousand times. And we will be sending out personal thank you messages as soon as things regulate a bit.
Please continue to keep Suzanne busy with commissions <3

Another update 10/6/23
Hi friends, another update.
Archies health is still unstable. He’s back in the hospital and receiving more transfusions and a feeding tube. He’s being such a brave boy ❤️
suzanne is very comforted by the sale of her paintings, so please use this time to invest in some amazing art for a really tender cause.
we are so appreciative of the donations and will keep you updated as we know more.
suzanne is heartbroken, as am I, and we are just trying to take it one day at a time.
please send good juju and whatever prayers you may have for Archie’s comfort and well being.

As many of you know, Suzanne's primary relationship is... her dogs.
One of them, Archie, is going to need a lot of support.

****AUTOIMMUNE HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA
Archies immune system is not working properly and incorrectly makes antibodies that target his own bloodcells. We still don't know exactly WHY this happens, but there is treatment- and we are hopeful. He's had many blood transfusions, and has been in the ER for a week. Today is the first day Suzanne is able to take him home, with the arrangement that she bring him back daily for blood platelet checks daily. Hopefully as he improves, he will need less urgent care, and can go back to his scruffy little life as the most lovable creature ever. We are managing our expectations, and will have to make important decisions along the way, but right now we are aiming for recovery, and will monitor for relapse.
We just learned that Archie has an autoimmune disease and is receiving a blood transfusion and lots of other uncomfortable procedures at the over night emergency vet hospital.
Suzanne and I both have always said "we'd never set up a go fund me for a pet", but what we didn't know was how desperate we would feel when the time came to save Archies life.
So here we are. Any donation would be extremely helpful for Suzanne. We are also posting links to her Facebook profile and her Instagram profile in the even that you would like to contribute by purchasing some of her Art.
