My name is Lisa Lee, Li Min the owner of Ichiban Japanese Restaurant and I are raising funds for our long-time employee and friend, Akiko Pealatere and her son Brody Pealatere.
All funds raised will be sent to Akiko's account via Go Fund Me to help with living expenses and Brody's education.
On May 24th Robert Pealatere, the loving husband of Akiko and beloved father of Brody, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly due to an undiagnosed medical condition at the age of 44. Akiko and Brody are heartbroken and need our community's support.
Robert energetically embraced the task of homeschooling Brody during most of 4th and 5th grade while Elwood School was closed. Brody will forever cherish this quality time spent studying, as well as playing guitar and taking motorcycle and ATV rides with his father.
After Robert lost his job during the pandemic, Akiko supported the family financially. Working at Ichiban Japanese Restaurant on the
Mesa, her income was hurt by mandatory restaurant closures during the lockdown. Akiko always gives 100% of herself to her family and her work. Many of you have been touched by Akiko's warm smile and courtesy to her customers. Now, as the sole caregiver for Brody, Akiko needs time to grieve Robert and comfort Brody during this difficult time.
Akiko has approved this fundraiser and is grateful for your support of her family.
