The Fraternal Order of Police EB Jermyn Lodge 2 is seeking donations for the family of Detective Kyle Gilmartin.
Detective Gilmartin is a 9-year veteran of the Scranton Police Department, currently assigned to the major crimes unit and the auto theft task force. Det. Gilmartin is a dedicated police officer and family man.
On the early morning of Thursday, January 11, 2024, while investigating several shots fired calls in the city of Scranton, Detective Gilmartin along with other officers, were fired upon by an armed individual. Det. Gilmartin was struck and was severely injured and in critical condition. Det. Gilmartin remains in critical but stable condition under the care of the intensive care team at a local hospital.
We are extremely grateful for the community support of not only the citizens of Scranton, but also state and nationwide support. Det. Gilmartin is fighting for his life and is making remarkable improvements in even this short time. We remain hopeful for his eventual recovery but know that it will be a long road ahead.
100% of funds raised will be donated to support Detective Gilmartin’s wife and family. Please help us help a hero’s family during this most difficult time.
