Please 'spot' Dan Spotten ❤️

Hello, my name is Amber, and I'm trying to raise money to help my dad, Dan Spotten.

 

The people of Pella are used to seeing my dad up on ladders, hanging signs all around the community. Thursday, May 12th, was no exception, but unfortunately this day the extention ladder decided to give out and he was dropped to the ground, breaking each of his left ribs, lacerating his spleen, and damaging his already not-so-great shoulder. This accident has equated to multiple ambulance rides and hospital stays that are still adding up, as he has been readmitted to the hospital again today, and has a long road of healing and physical therapy ahead of him.

 

On top of the mountain of medical bills that are about to start hitting his mailbox, he is going to take a huge hit with work, as he is a small business owner who proudly does all his own labor. While there is no doubt he will find a way to get his customer's work done, he is now going to need to pay others to do the physical work for him. And knowing dad, he's not going to pass that cost onto customers.

MAY 28 UPDATE: Around 3am last night dad was taken by ambulance back to the hospital. His spleen has been slowly bleeding (which we knew), but the blood sack that had been holding the blood ruptured and that blood is now pooling against his diaphragm, which is hugely painful. They are still hoping to avoid surgery, but he will be in the hospital under close supervision for awhile.
