Please Read: Jessica’s Story #JusticeForJessica

On August 25, 2025, the life of Jessica Lloyd, our amazing daughter, sister, and friend to so many, was tragically taken from us at just 38 years old. Our hearts are completely broken, our lives forever changed. So many questions remain… Why did this happen? How could this happen to someone so beautiful, loving, and full of life?

Yet, something did happen. Someone entered Jessica’s life. Out of nowhere, Jessica became caught up in a new romance. After less than two months, Jessica moved out of her newly acquired apartment, became engaged, and was married. No family or friends were notified. For Jessica, who had always been open and connected, it was completely out of character. In the weeks and months that followed, contact with her dwindled until it was virtually gone. Those who loved her were deeply concerned, but silence surrounded her situation. Some knew but remained quiet. That secrecy became dark and the silence, deafening.

Then one tragic night, after only 17 months of marriage, someone called 911: “My neighbor is screaming! Help me! Help me! My husband is trying to kill me!" Jessica’s last known words echoed desperate cries for help. Surveillance video captured her barefoot, scaling a tall, pointed wood fence, running into the night calling for someone to save her. Not long after, she was found face down in a canal near her home. It was too late. Every parent dreads that unthinkable moment, when the knock at 3 a.m. brings two officers with regrets. Your daughter’s life has ended.

Jeffrey Evans was charged with simple battery on $1000 bond. He has a history of violence towards women. Coral Springs Florida police department is still investigating.

As a child, Jessica Morgan was frequently described as “a happy little soul." Always smiling, always laughing, always joyful. That same soulful persona stayed with her well into her adult life. Jessica had a true adventurous spirit and an abundant love of life. She was an avid diver, angler, horse loving equestrian, jumped out of planes, and a SAG member since the age of 5. Despite all her escapades, she found real contentment in even the smallest joys; time with friends, her beloved pets, meteor shower gazing with mom. After years as a server and bartender, Jessica proudly began a career in nursing. She once called her mother, beaming, to share: “Hey Mama, guess what? The charge nurse said having me was like having two nurses!” That was all Jessica; hardworking, generous, always putting others first.

She was radiant, beautiful, and her mischievous smile and infectious laughter was truly heartwarming. All who knew her speak now of her pure and loving soul, her sweet and giving heart. Jess hugged frequently, because she cared deeply. She was genuine and will be forever remembered and missed by all.

Jessica’s story is more than one family’s tragedy. Please share this post with everyone you know. It is a NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION, to bring awareness to the ongoing epidemic of violent domestic abuse that goes on in this country every day. Silence, secrecy, and fear allows abuse to continue. By speaking out, you may save a life.

Now her family again faces the unthinkable: laying Jessica Morgan to rest. There is a plan for a “Celebration of Love” for the many people who cherished her.
