I’m not entirely sure how to write this, and to be honest, it feels vulnerable to even try. But my family and I are going through a difficult season, and I believe in being honest when things aren’t okay.

My partner and I own and operate a small organic cracker company. We are hardworking people — we run our business, take side jobs (my partner as a massage therapist), and I’ve recently transitioned into a new position. However, with the timing of pay cycles and a slow winter season, we’ve hit a stretch where income hasn’t caught up yet.

For the past few months, we’ve been relying on food banks and occasional help just to bridge the gap. It’s not something we’re accustomed to, and it’s been humbling in ways I can’t fully articulate.

We’re not looking for anything extravagant — just help covering basic needs for our family of six: groceries, gas, keeping the lights on. Stability. A little breathing room while we regain footing.

It’s hard to ask. We’re proud, working people, and this isn’t a permanent situation — just a difficult chapter. If anyone has advice, resources, or even a small measure of grace to offer, we would be deeply grateful.

Thank you for reading.
