Our little sister needs our help.  Bria Jackson, a determined and passionate young artist and fitness enthusiast, has recently received news that her health has taken an unexpected and threatening turn. We have started this campaign to help Bria with medical bills, surgery bills, and to attempt to ease any financial stress that may come from her journey ahead.

”Okay so.... I think now is the right time to inform you all about what has been going on lately regarding my medical status.

Times have been hard recently regarding my health. I have been pushing to stay positive, remain productive, and to surround myself with the people I love so that I'm not alone during this time and keeps me distracted by focusing my energy into something else. Always gotta keep it moving..... but If you're receiving this message it is because you are someone important to me that I know would love to be in the loop now that I have had some time to process everything.

Back in July I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. “Graves' Disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes hyperthyroidism, or overactive thyroid. With this disease, your immune system attacks the thyroid and causes it to make more thyroid hormone than your body needs. Thyroid hormones control how your body uses energy, so they affect nearly every organ in your body—even the way your heart beats.” On top of having this disease I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease (chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis) which is when the immune system attacks the thyroid. Due to this I have been having liver and heart complications as well and I am positive for Thyroid Cancer with 4 tumors on my thyroid. Sounds like a lot but I am managing and all will be okay!

On October 21st at 11am I will be going into surgery to get a total thyroidectomy and to remove all tumors. It is usually considered a fairly simple surgery. But for me due to how severe my diseases are, there are a lot of risks going forward into this surgery. Without going too much into detail about the complications and morbid success rates/risks that I face in surgery, I will make you aware that I will be in a tight spot financially, mentally, physically, and more. I just ask for your love and support and I will try my best to communicate anything that needs to be shared with you as I move forward into this process. I will be out of work, the gym, dance, etc for a few weeks. But it'll all be okay and I'll see you all once I recover ! I just wanted to be transparent and for you to be aware of what is happening since I have kept the majority of this to myself and a select few.
