Hello, I’m Nicky, Ivan’s wife of 33 years. We married age 21 and lived in Chelmsford for many years, before moving to Maldon, and briefly Suffolk, with our two dogs Jo and Bibby.

I am a music teacher , and I have supported both myself and Ivan over our years together. Ivan was unable to work as he struggled with daily life, and was neuro divergent, which impacted all aspects of his life. Ivan had many things that he loved, football, playing sports, and although he never played golf he loved hitting balls!. He played for Writtle minors , County cricket, and really enjoyed athletics especially javelin. He watched every single F1, and was passionate about motorbikes and fast cars.

He spent many happy hours in The Ship, The Bay Horse, and The Prince of Orange pubs. He was often seen helping out in his mums greengrocers PIPS, in Moulsham street, Chelmsford. His close circle of friends were very important to him, especially the boys from 113 Moulsham Street, you know who you are!.

He adored animals, he loved Collie dogs, and he was much more comfortable with them than people in general.

Ivan was not only my husband, he was my best friend, my mate , and we have never ever been apart, until now. I will so miss his massive character, huge shoulders and infectious laugh, that rattled his whole body, whilst wearing his signature baseball cap and sunglasses.

I am asking for support in raising some necessary funds to give Ivan the best possible goodbye. He wanted to be buried in a beautiful, natural , woodland space. The burial will be private, but all are welcome to visit him later to say their own farewells.
