I’m reaching out with something deeply personal to our Hooper’s community.
Many of you know Coach Steve — one of our travel team coaches who has been with us since day one. He’s the guy who shows up with full heart, full energy, and full commitment to our kids. He’s also the creative hands behind all our team shirts and merch. He has poured so much into our program, and truthfully, we wouldn’t be who we are without him.
Recently, Coach Steve suffered a stroke, and it has weighed heavily on all of us. As his doctors work to understand the extent of his injuries and what his recovery will require, we know we want to do more than simply keep him in our prayers. Stroke recovery is a true journey — and in this season, rest isn’t optional, it’s vital. Any stress, worry, or pressure to push himself too soon can slow his healing or even lead to setbacks. And with the holidays approaching, the last thing we want is for him, his wife, or their three children to feel the weight of financial pressure while he focuses on getting well.
So, we’ve created a GoFundMe to support Coach Steve and his family during this season. Every donation — no matter the amount — gives him space to recover without the fear of how bills will be paid or how Christmas will look for his kids. It allows us to do what families do: hold each other up.
If Coach Steve has ever poured into your child, lifted their confidence, or simply shown up with the heart he always brings — or if you just feel led to be a blessing — this is our moment to pour back into him.
Thank you for being a community that loves big and stands together. Let’s surround this family the way they’ve surrounded ours.
