Hi Friends and Family,
This feels incredibly vulnerable and difficult to share on the internet but I feel like we need our village now more than ever. Our family has been struggling with some very difficult medical issues for over a year and a half now. I have held back on sharing our story for many reasons, mainly because our sweet little boy is the one who has taken the hardest hit from our circumstances and that is a harsh reality to face. As you all know we made the move to Tennessee in May of 2022 and bought a newer built home (2019) with the idea that it would be the perfect place to raise our children. A few months after our move, Gavin Jr. began having medical issues and appointment after appointment we were left without answers. In August of 2023, I suffered my first miscarriage at 14 weeks pregnant and lost a second baby shortly after. My intuition told me something wasn't right and after some deep digging, I began working with a functional provider to get to the root cause of Gavin's illness.
Once we began this process, we discovered that Gavin Jr. was overloaded with mycotoxins and that they were indeed the root to his illness and that it was likely the home we were living in that was making us sick. We soon came to find out that our home had standing water in our crawlspace that had saturated our HVAC ductwork and that the air that was blowing in our faces everyday was heavily contaminated. This was missed upon inspection because when we purchased the home, it happened to be after a dry spell and there was no obvious water damage or contamination. We have since invested an obscene amount of money on inspections, replacing HVAC systems, duct work, encapsulating our crawlspace, installing a sump pump system, installing 3 dehumidifiers (one for each level), removing/replacing all flooring, disposing of all our furniture (mattresses, couches, baby items, sentimental toys and books and so much more that couldn't be saved), small particle cleaning, fogging, painting the entire interior of our home, air purifiers, ionizers and endless testing and therapies. We have spent a small fortune on helping to detox and heal Gavin from the inside out and we are still facing a very long road ahead. Nothing is worse than watching your baby struggle and suffer but we are optimistic that with continued prayers and care with some of the most knowledgeable providers we have come across, we will heal our sweet boy.
