Please Join Our Fight Against Cancer for Tomek's Life

Hello all,

My name is Michal and pictured here is my brother Tomek, who in November was diagnosed with an incredibly rare and aggressive, liposarcoma. I currently live in the US, while my brother lives in Poland. Due to the extremely rare nature of this cancer, the most promising treatment is only offered in the USA. Further, since Tomek is not a US citizen, there is no health insurance available to help with the costs.

This is what brings us to Tomek to tell his story.....

My name is Tomek, I am 50 years old. I have a beautiful wife and I am the father of two phenomenal children - 20-year-old Dominik, a student at the University of Białystok, and 14-year-old Marcela, a 7th-grade student. My family is the most important thing to me, as I am their support system, and they are mine.

In November 2024, I received a diagnosis that turned my life completely upside down - myxoid liposarcoma, an extremely rare, aggressive cancer in an advanced stage with metastases to the lungs and liver. Only 6 people per million are diagnosed with this cancer per year. It's like winning the lottery, only the other way around.

Unfortunately, despite the intensive chemotherapy available in Poland, the tumors in the lungs and liver doubled in size in a short time.

Today I have gained hope, a chance to save my life - treatment in the United States. In the USA, they are offering me an innovative therapy that is groundbreaking in the treatment for my type of cancer. This is an advanced immunotherapy that involves “genetically programming” your own white blood cells to fight cancer.

This is the only liposarcoma treatment in the world that was registered by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in August 2024. This is a one-time intravenous therapy.

The list price of the drug alone is over $700,000! Add to that the cost of tests, the hospital stay itself, and medical care, which is very high in the US. We are still waiting for the final price, but I have already been informed that the costs will reach hundreds of thousands of dollars! Due to me being an international patient, I am not entitled to the benefit of health insurance to cover these costs.

It's an unimaginably large sum... Even with the help of my family and closest friends, I am unable to afford this treatment on my own. I can't give up... I have to fight!
