Hello, I am Fran, a trained nurse in England, and I am creating this gofundME account to support my very dear and unrelenting friend, Dr Rab Afzal and his amazing team who are working tirelessly, day and night, to save his beautiful people of Ghaa-sa! Through generous, daily donations they have been able to supply countless starving babies with formula, as well as daily tanks full of de-salinized ocean water and massive vats of cooked pasta or bread to well over 500 families a day!! Dr Rab also offers The CSK Afzal Field Hospital where he provides free emergency and paediatric care as well as medication distribution.  

But Dr Rab cannot do this alone, he relies on donations as most food and supplies are only attainable through the black market at extortionate prices; one bag of flour $50, one can of baby formula $90!! And I have seen these prices almost doubling in this last week alone as increased starvation increases the demand and the black-market dealers are becoming aware of financial donations, thus charging higher and higher prices!! 

Additionally, the demand for aide is growing as his people are increasingly entering the fifth and irreversible stage of starvation.  "According to Gaw sa's Ministry of Health, at least 159 of its citizens, 90 of whom are children and infants, have died of malnutrition and dehydration as of July 30, 2025, while one in three children under five in the north suffers acute malnutrition." (All Jazz era, Ansam Al-Kittaa, 31 Jul 2025).  I see the parents I know first-hand not eating for days to sacrifice what little they have for their children, fathers or sons going to the US Food Aide and either returning empty handed or not returning home as they are killed by enemy soldiers as they near the distribution centre.  Other families are resorting to water with salt as a meal or wearing bricks or stones around their wastes to try to still the hunger.  Another dear friend who lives there, Mohannad Elsimiri, has resorted to giving his three young children Tussibal cough syrup to "help them sleep without asking for food that isn't there"! Both Mohannad and his young daughter, Sham, have already required saline and dextrose IV infusions to help still their hunger. 

Dr Rab's plight is URGENT!!! He is trying to reach as many as quickly as possible, requiring more funding in order to accommodate this! His team reaches across all of his country and so they are ready to increase their aide distribution.  Please, I beg of you, forgo that extra luxury, reach deep into your hearts and pockets for anything you can spare, or even sacrifice for the sake of saving a life!! I myself have very little, I go to food hubs to get by, but even I am tightening the already stretched budget to gift every last bit of money to as many of these families as possible. I drive less, forgo any treats out, fill a thermos with hot water in order to use the electric kettle only once, no lights after dark, I cut my own hair to avoid salon prices, etc...these are all completely trivial things when our fellow human beings are being forcibly starved. 

I promise you; every single penny will go to Dr Rab and his team.  The time to act is NOW, every minute counts.  Together, we can save the people of Ghha-sa, together WE ARE THE SOLUTION!!!
