Please honor the legacy of Joan S. Tannenbaum
Donation protected
Joan was a beloved 4th and 6th grade educator at ps194 in Brooklyn, N.Y. , for over 40 years. In her time there she established a beautiful science lab, and she funded and worked with many organizations that built schools around the world for impoverished children. She led in many grassroots political efforts that supported family needs. She was invited to the White House several times to be thanked for her service. She was nominated “Woman of the year” by ORT America.
She loved learning, and acquired multiple phd and master degrees during her lifetime. She loved both to learn and to teach. She led student teachers. She even donated her time as a tutor into her final years.
Joan was very prudent in thinking about her final expenses.
While a final expense policy was purchased, she had no major health issues. Then she took a fall which led to an onset of mild dementia. Almost 2 years later, after this past Thanksgiving , she suffered from a sudden physical complication leading to the policy being contested …leaving her family to struggle with various final expenses.
If you knew Joan or her family, you would know the her and her husband lived with passion and purpose. And they passed those values to the daughter and grandchildren.
Funds will support the family with final expenses and continuing her legacy.
