Please Help Writer, 78, Recover
On Saturday morning, February 8th, I woke to find my apartment filled with nearly three feet of cold dirty water. Earlier that morning a nearby water line burst. It flooded me and other neighbors. I lost was all my furniture and dozens of reference books. Luckily my work laptop and all my book files were saved. But my renters insurance and the building owners insurance will not cover me. The City of Lakewood operates the water system. But they will not assist me and the other flood victims. I want to get back on my feet. I want to get back to normal living and writing history books again. Meanwhile I am asking for enough funds for the most basic furniture to live, work and sleep. My next book is due with the publisher in just months. So I am anxious to get back to work writing about my specialty, the Civilian Conservation Corps. Every little bit will help me get back on my feet. Thanks so very much. Bob Audretsch
