Hi, I'm fundraising to help cover my cat, Verge's, specialist medical care bills.

He's had a deep ear infection for over 2 months now, and after trying antibiotics, steroids, saline rinses, and deeper cleans at the vet, and still not being able to clear it or to look in his ear canal, we had to book him in with a specialist to get a CT scan to check what was in and make sure it is safe to remove. The scan is done and luckily, he doesn't have polyps or any concerning growths, and it seems to be a deep in-ear infection that's blocking his ear. He now needs to go see a dermatologist (I'm in the process of getting that booked - the waitlist is 1 month) to do an otoscopy, where they will go in with a small camera and clear the blockage that's preventing the treatment from working.

The treatment so far has come to over £3.6k (I'll show a breakdown of what I've had to pay for transparency). I have insurance, but they are refusing to cover it and they're claiming this is a pre-existing condition, as Verge had an unrelated ear infection when I first got him. I am trying to fight this, as it was not the same infection, and that was treated, but I'm not optimistic.

I've had Verge for 1.5 years, and he's a very happy cat. Everyone who meets him, friends and health care professionals, say the same. He needed the treatment, so of course I got it, but this meant borrowing and maximising my credit card. I hoped I'd manage to get most back with insurance, but it's now looking like that won't be the case, so as much as I don't want to, I am turning here for help. If anyone could help with anything at all as well as sharing, that would be incredibly helpful. If you can't help but can share, please do. I really appreciate the help.
