Please Help with Trix's ACL Operation

Hi there,

My name is Leigh and I'm fundraising for the most special dog I've ever met - she's called Trix.

Trix was rescued at 4 and a half years old following being beaten so much that her spine is compressed and she has numerous other complaints as well as being used to just breed puppies.

Trix is 9 now and despite her awful start in life, she was lucky enough to find my friend Tessa and her family and is the happiest, most trusting and loving dog that I know.

Recently she has started limping due to tearing her anterior crucial ligament and despite her age and spine issues and we were expecting a terrible prognosis from the vet due to her age and history but we got some incredibly good/bad news just now.

The vet is more than keen for her to have the operation and said it would be a travesty to have to put such a beautiful, lively, healthy and loving dog to sleep. The reason for the fundraiser though is that the op will cost £4000 which they can't discount or give us a payment plan for as they need to bring a specialist in to carry it out. There are also £1000 in xray, medication etc charges. As Trix is 9, we have recently cancelled her insurance as it was well over £100 a month and barely covered anything after her sad past and associated conditions. Tessa has been such a good customer of this vet practise that I'm sure they would discount if they could or provide a payment plan for Trix as she has also featured on their Facebook page and they always love seeing her happy little face!

Without this operation, the vet has said her ligament will worsen and cause intense pain between 8 to 12 weeks at which point we would need to make the worst decision in the world for a loving soul that is otherwise healthy, happy and enjoying her best life.

Trix is so loved and Tessa is such a good Mum - those of you that know Tessa will have seen the hundreds of photos of a very spoiled Trix sleeping in bed with her Mum or always resting on the sofa with her and probably being more inportant in general than her grown up human siblings who are also devoted to her.

Tessa is also a little embarrassed that I am starting this GoFundMe for her - but it's not for her, it's for Trix to carry on with her happy, loved life as this really isn't her time. I know that Tessa's friends, family and clients and family also love them both and hope that some of you are able to donate a little for this gorgeous pair.
