Roy Batty's Rainbow Bridge and vet bill fund

Hello, my name is Tina and I am the proud parent of our dearest baby, Roy Batty, the internet sensation and beloved character we all know and love from his in person snuggles and his antics on my Twitch Streams. We all love watching him trying to get his turn to DJ and ham it up for the camera waiting for treats and petting. This rambunctious Peterbald kitty just turned 6 years old this past week.

Sadly, out of the blue, just 9 days ago lil' Mr. Batty started showing signs of fatigue, eye swelling and loss of appetite. He has been to the vet 5 times since and after a full slate of tests we still don't have a definite answer with what is going wrong.

The first ER doctor ran an array of initial tests including blood panels, urinalysis, and chest x-rays, and all of which came back within normal levels with a few being near the lower limits, we didn't get any clear answers. The chest x-ray showed a faint circular mass. Two possibilities from this were cancer or FIP. The vet was worried he might have neurological issues and recommended a MRI along with a CT scan for more detailed views of lungs and lower organs.

Second ER visit wasn't as doom & gloom. She leaned towards the initial diagnosis from an Urgent Care diagnosis earlier in the week of a severe viral flare up of the upper respiratory system. She prescribed an anti-viral, pain meds and eye drops. She wanted to see if this helped, while recommending we take him to an oncologist to review the x-rays and possibly get an MRI, CT and ultrasound to confirm or eliminate cancer.

Today he had an ultrasound to try and get a fine needle aspiration to do a biopsy for cancer and/or FIP. The ultrasound didn’t show anything, which might mean the suspected mass is not close enough to the lung surface to be detected via ultrasound *or* there might not be anything there. Since they couldn't detect the x-ray mass they were unable to do the needle aspiration to get cells to test for cancer or FIP. The doctor thinks his symptoms might be something more serious with his sinuses and chronic upper respiratory issues and she recommends a CT of his head and lungs...and possibly camera exploration for more detail.

As Mr. Batty has only been eating and drinking small amounts over the last week, the Dr. also recommended a feeding tube.
The feeding tube could be put in tomorrow at a cost of at least $1300. The CT for both lungs and his head would be $4900 (that would include doing the feeding tube at same time if we're willing to wait so we don't have to pay for anesthesia twice and the doubling the risks that come with that, but we'd have to wait until next Weds to do all that together). The Rhinoscopy would be another $1900+

The scary dilemma is can he wait a week for the feeding tube? We've been giving him syringes of baby food and a high calorie food paste (Under the Weather for cats). He got another round of Sub-cutaneous fluids today to help with his dehydration. There is a big risk of introducing liquid to the lungs when giving fluids and food by syringe, which could cause pneumonia in addition to the stress that cats naturally feel when force fed.

So far, the costs of his care has come to over $5000 in the last week. With the procedures recommended that expense will more than double and to help with these costs to ensure Batty gets the care he needs we are setting up this GoFundMe for anyone who would like to contribute to his cause. I am distraught seeing him in such a condition and really hate to ask for help, but I owe to to my sweet baby boy to do all I can to ensure his recovery.

We're starting with a goal of $12,000, but costs may go up once we have a conclusive answer on the causes of his illness and develop a treatment plan. Any help, positive thoughts and love to our wonderful little Roy Batty would be so very appreciated! Please also feel free to share this GoFundMe and get the word out there.

Enormous thanks to all of you you have sent notes of care, love and positive thoughts for him... we appreciate you!!!! We all want Roy Batty to be back to his loving, silly and naughty self! We send you hugs, purrs, meeps, honks and all the other fun sounds Roy Batty uses to express his unique personality and love for life and pipe cleaners.
