Please help with our dad’s cancer treatment❤️

Our amazing dad Sylwester is only in his 40s and is fighting for his life.

In February 2025, he was diagnosed with two rare blood cancers called MDS/MPN (myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasms). From that moment everything changed.

Doctors told us the only way to cure dad was a stem cell transplant and intensive chemotherapy. There was no match within our family, so we spent 6 long months waiting and praying that someone, somewhere, would be able to help him.

When we finally found out a donor had been matched, it felt like hope had come back into our lives. In September 2025, dad went through intensive chemotherapy both day and night in preparation for his stem cell transplant. He faced everything with so much strength and courage, never thinking about himself, always thinking about us. Even through the visible pain and weakness in his body, he kept telling us everything would be okay. We truly believed this was the moment things would start getting better.

But just 6 months later, our world was shattered once again.

The cancer came back. And this time it returned more aggressive than before and began growing rapidly.

Doctors planned a booster transplant from the same donor, but devastatingly the donor withdrew from the registry and no longer wished to be contacted. The treatment dad had been relying on suddenly disappeared.

Now the only chance to save his life is another stem cell transplant, alongside urgent chemotherapy to slow the cancer. The chemotherapy is only partly funded by the NHS in dad’s case. Without this transplant there are no other curative options left.

Under NHS guidelines, if a relapse happens within 12 months in adults, a second stem cell transplant is not routinely funded. The commissioner has confirmed they cannot fund a second transplant. The cost of a stem cell transplant is upwards of £100,000. This is why we are setting up this page. We are desperately fighting to save his life.

Anyone who knows our dad knows how special he is.

He is always the first person to help others. The person people turn to when something goes wrong. The one who supports everyone around him without ever asking for anything back. He has spent his life being there for others and praying for them when they needed strength.

He is an amazing dad, a loving husband and a loyal friend to so many people. He is the heart of our family and we cannot imagine our lives without him.

Now we are the ones asking for help for him.

We are doing everything we can to give our dad the chance to stay with us, but we cannot do this on our own.

The money raised will go directly towards the chemotherapy he urgently needs now, the second stem cell transplant that could save his life, and the specialist treatment required to give him a real chance of beating this cancer.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings our dad one step closer to another chance at life. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page could make all the difference to our family.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us fight to save our dad. ❤️
