Hi everyone, my name is Elijah and I'm an Ohio resident. The cat pictured above is my extremely sweet and skittish buddy Thomas. I am starting this fundraiser to raise money towards paying for his ongoing medical treatment. This afternoon I came home from my fulltime job to find Thomas completely collapsed on the floor, breathing shallow, meowing frantically, and leaking drool. I scooped him up in a blanket and ran to three different vets until we found one with enough oxygen. This turned out to be a specialized animal hospital that was, understandably, very expensive.

I will update as I learn more, but the prevailing thought right now from the vets is that he has either a respiratory infection or asthma, the latter of which would require him to use an inhaler frequently. All in all, his stay there is going to cost anywhere from $1700 to $2700, in addition to his prescriptions, injections, and x-rays.

Any amount given, or even just exposure is so immensely appreciated. He is the sweetest boy ever. I adopted Thomas from a shelter in May of 2022. According to the shelter workers, he had been abandoned by a family who was throwing a party and thought he would be too high maintenance. That turned out to be utterly ridiculous as he is a nervous, shy, very well-behaved cat who just wants food and to be loved.
