Hi. I’m Daph.

I have struggled with health issues for 18 years, and just can’t seem to get a handle on it. After years on disability, I returned to work last year. I’ve been running a candy store and very proudly, am 4th in the company for highest sales. I work hard,

my EBV/Post Viral Syndrome has come back with a vengeance and I am not in good shape. I’m very unwell. My GP and Immunologist both strongly recommend that I take a month off, at which time I spend most of my time in bed, allowing for rest, and an opportunity for the medications to do their thing.

This means that I will be limited in my activity and will not be able to do for others. I love helping and supporting my friends. I hate the thought of not baking for them, cooking meals, or giving rides. I’m usually the one doing the helping, and this feels horrible.

But guys, I’m barely making it.

My body is being hit hard, and as a result, my mental health is also breaking down. My depression is at an all time high and I’m starting to have sone serious cognitive issues.

I do have access to short term disability, but it doesn’t pay a lot, and I have to be out of work a full week before it will start to pay that little bit.

I have worked really hard to get financially stable and self reliant, and the thought of asking for help is killing me.

A dear friend has been encouraging me for weeks, and after filing for a leave of absence today, I’ve realized that it’s the only way I will make it.

Yes, my kids contribute to the bills. Quite a bit. They are doing all they can. As am I .

Not only am I asking for financial help, but other help ( from people that I know), like rides for my kids, and occasional company. Maybe even come and share a meal with me here or there, or sit with me and watch Dr. Who until our eyes cross.

Heres the disclosure part; In April ( about 6 weeks before I really got ill), I paid for a trip to England. I mean I paid for all of it.

And it’s not refundable.

I don’t want anyone to look at my Facebook later in the year and see that I’m with friends in London and feel taken advantage of.

It’s already paid for in full, I cant get the money back, and if I manage to get strong enough, I intend to go.
