My children’s father has paid a pittance in child support every month for the past few years, even reducing child support when he felt necessary . Due to the fact he has Weaponized support for my children, I decided to take him to court. Our court date was January 4, and on January 3 he presented me with a check because we both deduced that new support probably wouldn’t start until February as a result of the next days court date. Which is exactly what happened… The child support order didn’t go into effect until February 1 st. Well, he was so upset with the January 4 court determination as to what he has to pay, along with his over $10,000 in arrears, that he put a stop payment on his child support check that he gave me the night before leaving my account in the negative. I’ve had numerous NSF fees taken out and what little I had in savings has been taken to cover that. As most people know, I do Uber eats, GrubHub and Amazon flex which means that I have to have gas money in order to be able to deliver. This financial abuse has been going on for years, which is why I decided to take him to court. So, yes, I have asked for help before , but I can also tell you that I’ve helped numerous members of my community. But I’m in a desperate situation which is more imperative than my pride.
