Hi friends, so, to know me is to know of my deep love of animals, especially those in my care, which over the course of all my years working in rescue, totals over 70 fosters.
Unfortunately, both of my personal dogs, Dittle & Mima have had medical emergencies in the last week.
Dittle has been having varying heart related issues over the past 6 months. It has been somewhat financially manageable up until this month (mid Jan-mid Feb) where she needed to meet with a specialist, go to the ER, get an echocardiogram, get multiple x-rays and blood work panels, totaling just under $2,000. Multiple vets that I have taken her to said that once we gather as much info about her heart as we can, we can get her on the right combination of heart supporting & fluid draining medications to keep her feeling her best.
Mima is currently struggling through a very unexpected lapse in health. A form of sickness or condition has come over her in just the last two days. I had to rush her to the ER (2/15/21) because she was both vomiting and defecating blood. Fluids were given, x-rays & blood work were taken, but nothing came back definitive. The vet ER sent me home with an antibiotic, something to help with nausea and an ulcer preventative. This was a $1,006 bill.
*Update* (2/17/21) Mima still wasn't eating (3 days) and had to go back to the ER for an ultrasound, fluids, pain medication & an appetite stimulant. This additional bill was $536.
Here's where I'm going totally out of my comfort zone and asking for your help to chip whatever you can for her vet bills. Even if you only have a few dollars, any contribution helps immensely.
I call Dittle's my soul mate in a dog body and Mima's my fairy godmother. For the last nine years they've supported me through some epic ups and downs of life, especially during this particularly trying year, and I'd be remiss if I didn't return the favor as best I can.
I'm aware of how many worthy causes there are out there in the world right now. People and animals everywhere are in need of help. However, I'm gently asking that if you've had the pleasure of meeting little Dittle or goofy Mima, or loving me, please consider donating anything that you can spare.
