Please help with Laila’s Dance Academy Career
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sharon and I have set up this go fund me page for my Granddaughter, Laila who is 16 Years old.
Laila has been offered a Full Scholarship at Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts for 2 years which she will start this September 2025. Whilst this is a fantastic opportunity for her, the scholarship only covers the tuition and not the accommodation which is proving to be very very expensive.
Laila would have to live away from home as it is a 2 and a half hour trip away in Swindon.
Laila has been dancing from the Age of 3 years and has notably achieved many many qualifications and trophies in various types of dance, including Ballet, modern, Jazz, contemporary, Musical Theatre to name but a few.
Some of the achievements she has made are:
- Dance World Cup Winner in 2023
- Finalist for Uk Young Dancer 2024
- All England Winner
- Appeared in Matilda the Movie, 2024
- Appeared in Rapunzel as the young Rapunzel
- Appeared in Sleeping Beauty
- Destination Dance 4 x 1st Places with Platinum Marks
It has been noted by Arlene Philips and other professionals that Laila has the talent and ability to go far in the industry in the hope of being in the West End and backing dancers for Pop Stars. It would be a shame if she was unable to continue her dance career due to the financial cost of accommodation.
Everyone who has ever met Laila has said what a sweet, lovely natured and talented young lady she is.
Due to Laila’s school timetable and after school and weekend training this doesn’t leave much time at all for her to obtain part time work (believe me she has tried). Of course her family are 100% behind her and are also assisting financially as much as possible. The cost of accommodation is £7,200 per year as she would have to live with a host family.
I am hoping that after reading just a small part of Laila’s dance journey so far, that you would be able to help and donate. Any small amount would be greatly appreciated and will help Laila to continue her dream.
Thank you so much for taking time to read this.
